Fabian Ristau is a Berlin-based musician, composer and theatre music artist. His work moves between jazz, improvised music, electronic sound design and composition for the stage. He creates music for theatre productions, band projects and interdisciplinary artistic formats.
In his current work, he explores the connection between live sampling, electronic composition and AI-assisted processes. He is particularly interested in how language, movement, space and the individual impulses of performers can become musical material.
As a composer and live musician, he has worked with renowned theatres including Thalia Theater Hamburg, Schaubühne Berlin, Staatsschauspiel Dresden, Staatstheater Hannover and Schauspiel Frankfurt. His artistic practice combines musical precision with openness, improvisation and a strong sensitivity for scenic situations.
